Violinist Zachary DePue from Bowling Green, OH, studied with Ida Kavafian and Jaime Laredo and, upon completion of his studies at Curtis, joined the Philadelphia Orchestra. Prior to entering Curtis, Zachary attended the Cleveland Institute of Music; during the summers, he has attended the Isaac Stern Chamber Music Workshop, the Angel Fire, La Jolla and Sarasota music festivals, the Chautauqua Institution and Interlochen. Zachary comes from a musical family: his father is a composer and professor at Bowling Green State University; he joins his brother Jason, also a Curtis alumnus, in the Philadelphia Orchestra; a second brother is in the doctoral program in violin at the University of Texas; and another brother is a member of the Fiddler's Three country band.

Violist David Yang has performed with various small chamber ensembles throughout North America and collaborated with members of the Audubon, Brentano, Borromeo, Lark, Muir and Tokyo String Quartets along with Bonnie Hampton, Pamela Frank and Eliot Fisk and composer Joan Tower. David was raised in New York City and has studied with Martha Katz and Heidi Castleman and is currently Music Director of the chamber music series at historic St. Peter's Church in Philadelphia in addition to Artistic Director of the Newburyport Chamber Music Festival near Boston, MA. He is also leader of the Philadelphia-based children's music troupe Auricolae, founder of the Philadelphia Viola Society and teaches chamber music at the University of Pennsylvania.

Yumi Kendall from Philadelphia, PA, holds the Jacqueline du Pre Fellowship at the Curtis Institute. She made her recital debut at age seven and in 1998 made her orchestral solo debut with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Festivals in which Yumi has participated include Tanglewood, Music from Angel Fire, Verbier Festival, Taos School of Music and Marlboro. Yumi comes from an extremely musical family that includes John Kendall, Suzuki violin pedagogue; Christopher Kendall, music director of the University of Maryland; William Foster, assistant principal viola of the National Symphony Orchestra and Curtis graduate Daniel Foster, principal viola of the National Symphony Orchestra.
